If you've found your way to Lafone House, welcome! We're Zak and Libby, the owners and hosts of Lafone Guest house in Stanley, Falkland Islands.
The Falkland Islands have been making headlines around the world and as interest in the Islands has grown, so too has curiosity about this remarkable part of the South Atlantic.
For us, though, the Falklands are far more than a news story.
Our Story
Our story has taken us from meeting while training as ski instructors in Canada to building a life together here in the Falkland Islands. Along the way, we've travelled extensively, worked in hospitality and tourism, and discovered that nowhere captured our hearts quite like these islands.
For Zak, the Falklands have always been part of his story. His father, Mensun Bound, was born and raised here, and Zak first visited when he was just six months old. Those family connections created a lifelong bond with the Islands, their history and their people.
For Libby, it didn't take long to fall in love with them too. The extraordinary wildlife, wide-open landscapes and incredibly welcoming community soon made the Falklands feel like home.
That shared passion led us to establish Bound Tours, through which we welcome visitors from around the world and introduce them to some of the very best of the Falkland Islands on private wildlife, history and sightseeing tours.
Welcoming guests to Lafone House is a natural extension of what we already love doing: providing warm, personal hospitality, sharing our local knowledge and helping visitors make the most of every moment they spend in the Islands.
Whether you're staying for a few nights or settling in for a longer visit, our aim is for you to leave feeling that you've experienced the Falklands through the eyes of people who genuinely love calling them home.

As a family-run guest house, we pride ourselves on offering a personal experience. We're always happy to help with the details that can make a trip truly memorable, from recommending our favourite cafés and restaurants to suggesting scenic walks, beaches, wildlife experiences and places that might otherwise be missed.
And, of course, there's always time for a cup of tea and a chat about life in the Islands.
